Why Could Be Killing You?

Did you know that asking yourself why questions can depress you, cripple you and even kill your spirit?

How many times have you said to yourself questions like this?

Why is this happening to me?

Why did she leave me for someone else?

Why doesn't my job appreciate me?

Why don't my children listen to me?

Why do I work to just pay bills?

I think that you get the picture.

Why questions could be killing you?

Let me explain. Look at the first question from the why question list.

Why is this happening?
Asking yourself this question causes you to examine several things within yourself and build an inside and outside case against yourself. Now if you are building a case upon yourself from the inside out then you are placing yourself not only in trouble but you are psychologically and emotionally brainwashing yourself to be your own worst enemy.

I say this because you will relentlessly look for reasons that not only answer the question but they will make you feel worst about yourself. The will provide a self sabotaging effect to you.

Why questions urge us to find reasons to have our own pity parties. This breeds within us the desire to share some of our answers with other people. Causing our pity party to grow in size, purpose and negative energy that zaps our entire beings.

This is the main reason why could be killing you.

Each one of these why questions prime you to open a huge Pandora's box of problems.

The lightning fast way to change this and get a grip is by asking yourself what questions?

What questions empower you to build resolve 2 fight against situations and builds optimism within.

Instead of asking yourself why is this happening to me.
You ask yourself what questions like this:

What can I learn from this situation?

What people do I know who may have gone through this situation?

What visual pictures can I use to help me gain strength?

What can I do right now to help get me out of this situation?

What people can help me get out of this situation?

What short-term and mid-term goals can I set for myself?

What is my complete freedom plan to bring me from trouble to triumph?

See how you have changed your whole strategy just with simply changing the type of questions you ask yourself.

Let's do another one really quick before I close out this post with this other why question. Why did she leave me for someone else?

What did I do right in this relationship?

What did I do wrong in this relationship?

What did she do right in this relationship?

What did she do wrong in this relationship?

What did I learn about myself in this relationship?

What great qualities do I have to bring to a relationship?

What good to great quality traits do I want in a possible mate?

That pretty much does it for today.

Now you know What to do.

Challenges

Life is filled with various mazes of challenges.
The art of it all is keep moving to go through the mazes to find your way out.

Without challenges life would be boring.

Without challenges your character would never be strengthened.

Without challenges you would remain with an infant in mentally, emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually.

What challenge are you facing today?

What setback are you having right now?

Challenges should be met with focus, a game plan, resilience, and the faith to make it through the different mazes of challenges.

"There are no great men, only great challenges that ordinary men are forced by circumstances to meet." Bob Proctor

Ants & Success

I can recall it as if it was yesterday. I was a just a small boy reading through a magazine. My eyes became binoculars excitement kept me focused upon an advertisement about Ant cities. The more that I read the more the ad put me into trance stirring thoughts of owning my very own Ant city.

Ants have always been fascinating creatures that I loved. An ant city was just what I wanted. But would my parents agree was the real question. My curious adventure side went into overdrive. That is when I decided to create my own Ant city. Now I really had something. This would take me on an adventure that would make the experience that much more fulfilling.

So after finding a jar that I could put the ants in I gathered several from a tree outside my home. The next thing I did was gather dirt to pour inside of the vessel. Then I just observed their ways and actions.

Did you know ants know the secrets to being successful that anyone can apply in their lives right now. Here they are.

The Strength of Ants
Ants have a tremendous strength which allows them to carry twenty times their own body weight. Ants work better as a team than humans. Did U know their combined weight is greater than the combined weight of all humans? That's heavy!

How can we contrast this in our daily lives? Well first and foremost ants find their strength in exercising themselves and their abilities. The message is three-fold.

First exercise is extremely important to our health and success in life. Health is wealth.

Second exercising our abilities takes us into the realm of activity which soon bring us into the presence of achievement.

Third exercising physical strength is good but that is only surface. Mental strength, inner strength, and emotional are extremely important in being able to carry more than our own weight.

Ants Teamwork is Phenomenal

Ants have the uncanny ability to work together as a unit to accomplish the job at hand. Ants communicate through their antenna's. Each one having a specific task to do. Despite any differences they have they get the work done. Now with people it is different. We find so many reasons why we cannot work with each other effectively.

Ants are Extremely Productive Creatures

Ants are extremely productive creatures. They know what they have to do and they let nothing stop them from being productive and accomplishing their tasks. We can be the same way. We can accomplish this by keeping laser sharp focus on our objectives working towards them everyday and in every way.

Ants are Earth's Most Successful Creatures

Ants are known as earth's most successful creatures. I believe that they are successful because they remain consistent in giving their best when they are at work. They never lose focus and we should ever lose focus in achieving our dreams, objectives and quotas in life.

Ant's are never half-stepping. They always go hard. They are also master builders who dedicate their lives to their jobs the way athletes dedicate their lives to their sport.

We have to learn to be master builders who are always constructing the type of life that we want. Why should we have less than what we can build or wait for someone else to build it for us?

When I made my first Ant city I found out that no matter how much dirt I poured into that vessel they always drilled holes in the dirt making tunnels and rose above the dirt.

You can too by applying these principles to your life. No matter where you are in life you have the ability to rise above the dirt. Now get on your job and work towards being successful in all that you do.

Metaphoric Genius

Do you remember the last time that you heard a good story?

Remember how the words painted a picture in your imagination. The words painted pictures so that we imagined bringing to life in our minds those words which we heard.

Metaphors make the world go around. Our minds think in metaphors.

This is why Jesus preached using metaphors because the mind retains and understand that which was unknown much better with metaphoric pictures.

Now let me share with you the three types of metaphor that I want to share with you.

Educational Metaphors-Are metaphors that teach people and educating them. The best educational metaphors enlighten people. They are the kinds of metaphors that are simple plain and profound.

Here are a couple:

Life is a baseball game where you cannot score unless you step up to the plate and take your best swings at the pitches thrown at you.

Antonio is a thief of hearts. Ladies look out.

Personal Metaphors_ Are metaphors that are tailor made to fit those who you are delivering a message. If you are talking with a lawyer you would use metaphors that are familiar with them? If you were speaking to a doctor you would use metaphors that are familiar?

Here are two examples of them:

Metaphor 4 lawyer
Joey says he loves you but his actions gives powerful testimony against him.

Metaphor for a Doctor
Professionally, I don't like the way this guy operates.

Notice how the both of these metaphoric statements take familiar things that are familiar with both parties and utilizes them in a sentence to paint a picture for them to understand more clearer.

Action Based Metaphor- Tells a story filled with action bringing it to life.

Here is an example:

My problems were coming faster than I could duck, block or dodge them.

Now you know all three types of metaphors. Let me let you in on a little secret.

Are you ready for it?

The most powerful metaphors that you can use is by combining all three types into one. First get used to using each one and then learn how you can combine all three together in a one shot deal.

I'm gonna close with a paragraph created from action based sentence that combines all three for you.

My problems were coming faster than I could duck, block or dodge them.
They were pounding upon me in rapid succession. Before I knew it my body became a folding chair. I tried catching my balance but I ended up on the canvass with blurry vision. However, something within me knew I had to get back on my feet eve with blurred vision. So I grabbed a hold of the ropes pulling myself up from the mat.

The Laws of Transforming Behavior

I get a kick out of watching someone go through a makeover. I watch Good Day NY on channel five here in NYC. I can recall a woman who works there when she first started out who was very homely. After months went by I don't know what happened but I began seeing a change in this woman.

I really don't know if she got a new boyfriend, a co-worker gave her some tips, or just decided she needed a makeover. What I do know is that she no longer dresses frumpy and she looks as though she feels really good about herself and that's what's important.

I want 2 briefly discuss how we can all experience this very same transformation as this news personality did.

Law 1 The Law of Focus
The law of focus is where your focus is energy follows and it either rises or falls and expands or shrinks depending upon the power of your energy and emotions attached to it.

Let's take the news personality. At first her focus wasn't upon what type of clothing she wore. Now whatever the influence her focus changed. Once the focus changed she continues to dress in a more appealing fashion of clothing that compliments her age and her beauty.

Law 2 The Law of Self Observation
This is one of the most important laws to changing and transforming your behavior. A drug addict who doesn't recognize themselves as having a problem will never seek getting clean. However, when they acknowledge having a problem that needs to address they are more willing to take the necessary steps to change their lives.

We need to learn how to master our attention and energy. When we are able to do this change comes easier.

The news personality lady I mentioned earlier had a wake-up call from whoever and once she acknowledged how she was being perceived she was able to make a consistent change.

This is one of the hardest laws because oftentimes it is hard for us to see how people perceive us and it is also extremely difficult for us to see that we have a problem that needs addressing.

Law 3 Practice Makes Perfect
Practice makes perfect makes Tiger Woods, Serena Williams, and Floyd Mayweather Jr. remain n top of their games in their respective sports. It is not that they are just great athletes. They practice by working hard to perfect their crafts and excel in them.

Our news personality lady continues to step up her fashion game on Good Day New York to look her very best.

Law 4 Practicing Working Harder
There is a very distinct difference in practicing something and practicing working harder. When you practice something you do it in a way of routine. When you practice working harder you commit yourself for something greater than the norm. You allow yourself to stretch outside the confines of the usual into the unusual.

You dedicate yourself to working harder to be the very best person that you can be in the realm of your talent. You are not satisfied with running your normal 2 laps so you push yourself to go five.

Now watch this carefully I am going to use the United States military as an example to make this as plain as day.

Examining Law 1 The Law of Focus
1st The help you to alter your focus by telling you that you belong to Uncle Sam and you no longer are a civilian. They strip you of your normal clothing and provide you with a new wardrobe, new home, you go to and through boot camp to physically break you into the military lifestyle and you become a part of a completely larger family of the United States.

Examining Law 2 The Law of Self Observation
2nd The military makes sure that you know how to carry yourself and act as a soldier. Daily you have to do drills, following procedures and analyzing yourself to be the best that you can become. As you progress you are given awards and you move up through the ranks.

Examining Law 3 The Law of Practice Makes Perfect
3rd The military makes sure that you practice your drills, report for duty and show up and complete all of your assignments or you will be penalized. The more practice the better you become as an officer of the military.

Examining Law 4 The Law of Practicing Working Harder
4th The military makes sure that life is not going to be easy for you. They push you to become greater, stronger, faster and better than you were. They know that with practice comes hard work and along with it great transformation.

Life Changing Quotes

I have to admit I love reading quotes. I even write my own. I have found some of the most inspirational comfort, strength and insight from quotes from people from all walks of life.

I want to share a few of my favorites with you. It is my wish that they will be as helpful or even more helpful to you as they were to me. I will give you the backdrop of each quote before sharing it.

Ten years ago we were having an afternoon church program in which I was called up to participate along with several other people. We each had to gather small pieces of paper from out of a cap and do what the paper said.

I reached into the black cap not knowing what to expect. When I opened up the paper it told me to recite the written words. I have never forgotten those words because they have had an amazing impact upon my life. Here are the words I shared I shared with the congregation and I now share them with you.

"To be a champion, you have to believe in yourself when nobody else will." Sugar Ray Robinson

The first time that I read this quote i didn't know who wrote it. But the moment I read the words they became my motto. I made this quote my motto because I call myself the comeback kid. Every time I have lost something or someone I have always been able to comeback stronger and having more than what I lost in the first place.

Here they are:

"A setback is a setup for a comeback." Author Unknown

I was never satisfied with just seeing those words at the end of the quote. That is because I needed to find out who made this profound quote because it continuously has amazing impact upon my life. In my quest I found out that Willy Joppy is the creator of the quote and has a book entitled that.

"A setback is a setup for a comeback." Willy Joppy

I want to share one more quote and with this I will bid you farewell. This quote was found most recently. I had it posted in my office at work. It is extremely powerful. Mind blowing in every facet and life changing in every dimension when it is comprehended fully.

In fact, it hung up in my office for weeks before I truly gleamed all the knowledge wisdom and understanding found in the quote.

I warn you that it must be dissected to get the full impact. So let me share it then we will dissect it and be blown away. Here is the quote:

"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore,is not an act but a habit."
Aristotle

1st We are what we repeatedly do? Now what is it that you repeatedly do? Do you complain, start trouble, help people, con people, steal from people etc. etc. Whatever it is that we repeatedly do we are.

2nd Excellence, therefore is not an act but a habit. So what we repeatedly do makes us experts in that particular area.

Whatever you do, be it good or bad you become excellent at it. I want you to ponder all the things that you repeatedly do on a daily basis?

I want you to relax and think on this for two minutes. Give yourself time to reflect on your routine.

Why not work on the good habits you have.

The key to life is developing good habits that you become excellent in. Now let us read the quote again and I will see you next time.

"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore,is not an act but a habit."
Aristotle
